B A Binns writes contemporary, realistic fiction for teen and middle grade readers.

B A grew up in Chicago, Illinois. For a time she was a professional student, earning degrees from the University of Wisconsin (BA Biochemistry), Michigan State University (MS Biochemistry), Roosevelt University (BS Computer Science) and DePaul University (MS Computer Science).  After leaving school she pursued careers in Biochemistry working at the University Of Chicago Hospitals, and then in Computer Science at AT&T, she can now be found either volunteering at a the Arlington Heights Memorial Library in Illinois, or bent over a computer hard at work on her next story.
Or both.

After becoming aware of the problems of reluctant readers and the difficulty in finding books for a diverse population of young readers, B A chose to write for the young adult audience. 2015 saw the birth of her first grandchild. That led her to begin writing for even younger readers, resulting in Courage, designed for middle grade kids.

Her first book, Pull was published by WestSide Books 2010 and tells the story of a seventeen year old boy dealing with the aftermath of domestic violence that claimed his mother’s life and left him struggling to keep the rest of his family intact.  She is also the author of Being God (All The Colors Of Love Press, 2013), and Minority Of One (All The Colors Of Love Press 2014) Her next book, Courage will be published in winter, 2018 by HarperCollins.
